I want you to see how beautiful they are. They are not hungry because we feed them but they are out on the streets facing all sorts of dangers.

Kartopu is a dog living on the streets of Istanbul. He is one of my pals. Yesterday I am in a market. I saw him through the closed glass door. He is trying to smell something. I got out, he jumps on me as if we didn’t see eachother for years. We kissed, we hugged. I guess no glass door can keep a dog away from her pal. He kept dancing, chanting till we got back to my apartment. I could not record this wonderful moment yet I wanted to share the story. I used to share these stories on instagram and facebook, now I am considering youtube for this purpose.
Şoktayım; Şok markette yani, yoksa bu ülkede şoka girme duygumuz biteli çok oldu tabii. Kasada bekliyorum. En az 3 metre ötede kapalı cam kapı ve dışarda Kartopu; hani arada paylaştığım beyaz sokak köpeğimiz. Burnunu cama dayadı, içeriyi görmüyor ama koklamaya çalışıyor. İşim bitti çıktım. Görmeniz gerekirdi, tabii ki kaydedemedim, o nasıl bir mutluluk, o nasıl bir sevgi. Zıplıyor, atlıyor, taklalar atıyor. Benmişim kokladığı. Yıllardır görüşmemişçesine sarıldık, koklaştık, öpüştük. Hoplaya, zıplaya evimize döndük. Canım Kartopu.
